THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
"Interesting times... We can save the human race by lying in front of the TV and doing nothing."
Our 15th RCAF Airwomen's reunion will take place in Winnipeg from Tuesday, May 25th to Thursday, May 27th in 2021. The venue will be held at the Airport Hilton Suites located at 1800 Wellington Avenue.
"17 Wing was initially formed as RCAF (Reserve) Wing Winnipeg on 1 October 1950 to administer and control 402 Squadron. On 1 August 1951, it was re-designated 17 (Reserve) Wing, and then 17 (Auxiliary) Wing on 1 September 1951.”
If you are a member planning to come to the R15 please contact us about the reunion information page.
MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:
We hope you are well and taking care of yourselves as per Government of Canada Guidelines, amid this covid 19 outbreak. Stay healthy!
The government if warning us to watch out for Covid 19 scammers. These scams are in all forms including texts, emails, phone calls and some have apparently even shown up on doorsteps. No one should be at your door unexpectedly.
Please know that no one from our RCAF Airwomen’s Reunion organization will ever ask you for personal financial information. You will not be asked to send an e-transfer or a cheque to any other email or postal address other than the ones we have stipulated on the registration form.
Due to Covid-19, we would like to reduce the impact on the Canadian Postal system. Therefore, we are asking that you hang on to your cheques for now. You can still register online for the reunion, and e-transfers are still being accepted. However, we will not be mailing registration forms out at this time. We will monitor the situation, and let you know when we can receive cheques. Thank you for your understanding.

WOMEN IN THE NEWS:
This article was sent in by one of our Calgary members. Meet Carolyn Mowery:
"The RCAF came to the University of Manitoba, where I was a student and I joined the RCAF WD or the Royal Canadian Air Force Women’s Division. The WD was later dropped. I was the 158th girl to join the Royal Canadian Air Force from the province."

UPCOMING LOCAL LUNCHEONS EVENTS FOR MEMBERS:
*As you are all aware, restaurants and other venues are closed to public meetings. The coordinators will contact their members when luncheons are again up and running. For now, be safe and keep in contact with each other via phone and email.*
As the members of the committee update the nominal roll, we are discovering that some of our members have been with the angels for several years. They are included in our monthly newsletters as we find them.
