THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

“Just don’t give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.”   — Ella Fitzgerald

MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:

Ladies,

The committee has been contacted by several members over concerns with the COVID numbers and travelling in May of 2022. For the safety of all, the committee has decided to move Reunion 15 to September 13-15, 2022. All rooms that are currently booked will be moved to that time frame, and any monies paid for Reunion 15 are applied to the new date. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you up to date with what is happening. We will get revised codes for air travel soonest. Thanking you in advance for your understanding in the change of dates. We are looking forward to seeing in Winnipeg September 2022.

WINNIPEG TRIVIA:

Outdoor Art:

If you are travelling though the city of Winnipeg, keep your eyes open for the local murals on buildings around the city.

There are well over 1000 Murals on Winnipeg buildings and structures.  Some were commissioned by the City and others are put in place by local businesses, community grants and Business Improvement Zones (BIZ).  The 2020 Mural of the Year, “A Century of Solidarity” is at 275 Broadway at the Union Centre Building.  Many old business and advertising murals (Ghost murals) have been preserved throughout the city.  Two of these are the iconic 1920’s “It’s a long Tramp” at 2579 Portage Avenue and the “Nutty Club” on the head office at 149 Pioneer.  This link is a slide show: The Murals of Winnipeg
