THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:

Ladies:

As promised, we are announcing that the location for the RCAF Airwomen's Reunion 16 will be held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island!

We won't have exact dates until we secure a hotel, but it will be late May or early June 2024.

We have a Chair for the Charlottetown committee! Debbie Reid served 23 years in the military in the role of Admin Clerk. She took it upon herself to start a luncheon group last year and successfully established the Charlottetown/Summerside, PE, RCAF Airwomen group. They meet monthly in various restaurants across PEI. Debbie loves to volunteer for worthy causes. She is an excellent organizer and enthusiastically accepted the challenge of organizing the next reunion.

We are looking for ladies to join Debbie in the R16 committee. If you live in the area and would like to join her team, please contact us here.

JOIN US:

We are looking for new members!  Please talk with your luncheon group and friends about our reunions.  Anyone interested in joining can fill out a new member form here, or ask for more details here.

LUNCHEONS:

You don't have to be a member of the RCAF Airwomen's Reunion to attend a luncheon in your local area. If you are interested in meeting up with women you may have served with or whom served at the same time as you, get in touch with the facilitators to see what it's all about.

Some luncheons are monthly, year round. Some have their own annual schedules.

COMMENTS AND REPLYS:

I posed the question: What do you do to keep yourself busy? I also admitted that I get bored during the winter. I have no imagination.

Jan Fraser wrote:

In response to comment about getting bored with winter. I am a quilter and do needlework, but also spend a lot of time reading, so have never been bored. If you have a senior's club near you, they usually have all kinds of activities. I also belong to a gym for women, mostly seniors, that I go to three times a week. Years ago, I joined a genealogy group and did both families' histories which was an interesting project. I am 82 years old with multiple health issues and do not sit around feeling sorry for myself. There is no reason for anyone being bored. Getting involved in activities is like therapy, so I urge anyone who is feeling isolated to look around your community and see what there is available and make an effort to get out and do something.

Thank you, Jan, there are lots of great examples of things to keep one busy, not only in the winter months!
