THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
"Now is the time to reach out and talk to your friends."
Our 15th RCAF Airwomen's reunion will take place in Winnipeg from Tuesday, May 25th to Thursday, May 27th in 2021. The venue will be held at the Airport Hilton Suites located at 1800 Wellington Avenue.
There are quite a few golf courses in Winnipeg, one in particular is the 17 Wing golf course:
"CFB Winnipeg Golf Club was originally built by volunteers at the Wing and opened in 1988.
The Canadian Forces Base Winnipeg Golf Club is a unique 9 hole, 2,100 yard, par 32 golf course that is located on the inter site road of 17 Wing. The course accommodates all levels of golfers from the beginner to the club champion."
See the website: 17 Wing golf course.
If you are a member planning to come to the R15 please contact us about the reunion information page.
MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:
These are interesting times. Covid 19 has given us new challenges. We’d like to give a big shout out to front line workers, essential service workers, and everyone supporting them in their own way, (i.e., making masks, delivering meals, volunteering at food banks, donating, etc.) We hope you are all keeping safe and have the support you need.
Finally, we are 13 months away from our next reunion. As we may well have expected at this point in time, registration is slow. So if you plan to go, now is a good time to register. Right now we are looking for numbers. You do not need to send in your deposit with registration. We will ask for it later, when the future is clearer. Members do not have to receive the newsletter to register.
STAMP COLLECTING FOR CHARITY:
Please keep sending your stamps. If you have any questions, please phone me at 403-475-6738 or e-mail email@example.com.

WOMEN IN THE NEWS:
Grace MacEachern (1920-2010) was one of our members long before this committee took over. Grace was a para-belle and much more. Check out the following link to read her story:
"She started her career by serving as a nursing sister for the Grey Nuns in the Pembroke, Ontario, area. In 1951, following the death of her first husband, Cranston Woodward, she enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces, where she received a commission as a pilot officer just before joining the para rescue course at the age of 32"

As the members of the committee update the nominal roll, we are discovering that some of our members have been with the angels for several years. They are included in our monthly newsletters as we find them.
