THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

"I may be a senior, so what? I'm still hot." - Betty White

MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:

Ladies,

Hopefully, as we move forward from the pandemic, we can all start to enjoy travel and visiting with families and friends this summer.  In Just 135 days we will be reconnecting with each other again at Reunion 15.  The Winnipeg committee has been hard at work, securing entertainment for both nights, and transportation for day trip.  I am sure the time will fly by this summer.

Let your friends know that you are interested in seeing them again by filling out an R15 registration. When we receive your registration, your name will be entered on the attendee list. (Only members will have access to the list.)

REUNION INFORMATION:

Vests and Polo Shirts:

We are putting an order in for Polos and Vests, so if you are interested, please click here for more information and instructions on how to place an order.

WINNIPEG TRIVIA:

"In 1959, Winnipeg was the first North American city to implement a centralized emergency number. The number 9-9-9 was used, the same number chosen by London, England, the site of the first centralized emergency number in the world. It changed to 9-1-1 in 1974, when Canada adopted 9-1-1 as the centralized emergency number to be used across the country."

OXFAM STAMP COLLECTING: BATTLING COVID 19:

Flo Reid writes:

Just a reminder to keep collecting and sending your postage stamps. I have been getting lots of stamps in the mail and have had some wonderful communications via e-mail and phone with some of our ex-airwomen from coast to coast.

I think this is a very worthwhile project due to our worldwide Pandemic and we should continue to donate our stamps to Oxfam.

If you have any questions, please phone Flo at 403-990-1556 or e-mail flobobreid@shaw.ca

We donate these stamps to Oxfam Canada. To find out more about Oxfam click here.

SHE WRITES:

What do you remember?

Ruth Miller writes:

I was a cheerleader (AW) for the football team in St. Jean back in the fall of 1962. It was fun.

Hello, I always enjoy reading your newsletter.  I am wondering how many ladies who receive it are living in PEI. I would love to plan get together with other Air Force ladies, perhaps in Charlottetown.
Can you put this request in your next newsletter asking ladies to contact me at debbie.reid1234@outlook.com
Thank you. Debbie Reid CD
