NOVEMBER 2022

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
"We are here until we're not, let's make the best of it!"
MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:
Ladies:
Oh my, already November, with Christmas around the corner, Wow time flies. If there is going to be a Reunion 16, I need a team to stand up now, if they plan on it happening in 2024. National, will stay on, so the new team, does not have to take on, finance, newsletter, data base etc. We will work with the team that is going to take it on. On that note, there will be surveying the members to see if it is feasible to have a reunion 16 or not with the results of location, team leader and dates, to be announced in Decembers newsletter. Unfortunately our membership is getting smaller each year, as a result we have a sub committee that is going to look into recruitment. That will be Sandy Anderson, and Gerri Thornhill. If you have ideas please contact them here.
Oh yes! The pictures from Reunion 15 are on the website. Click this link to see them or go to the website and look under Reunions.
OXFAM STAMP COLLECTING: BATTLING COVID 19:
I am very pleased to report that the total stamps collected since our Ottawa reunion in 2019 is 53,122. The total from our airwomen is 33,272. I also collect from two other groups which made up the rest of our stamps collected. We have been collecting stamps for Oxfam since 2002. In 20 years we have donated 655,515 stamps which is pretty awesome.
I have decided that I no longer want to take on the collection of stamps for Oxfam. I have enjoyed doing this and one of the reasons has been being in contact with lots of our airwomen throughout Canada. I want to thank everyone who has donated these stamps by taking them to our reunions or mailing them to me.
Thanks again, Flo Reid
We would like to give a huge thanks to Flo Reid for her many hours spent collecting, trimming and mailing off to OXFAM over 33,000 postage stamps since 2017. A big job so well done! Bravo Zulu Flo!
LUNCHEONS:
Meetings are starting up again. Go to a luncheon and meet up with friends. So far the feedback has been positive. Getting out and seeing each other in person has been an uplifting experience.
Not all of the regular luncheons are posted in the newsletter. Check with your luncheon coordinators to find out if your group is starting to meet again.
Some luncheon groups have a break until the new year at this time. There are many luncheon groups out there. Check with your local group to see when they are meeting next.
