WOMEN IN THE NEWS:

In our July issue we had a radio interview of three of our ladies who were attending the reunion in Ottawa. Another one of the ladies at the Ottawa reunion, Celia Brown, was recently interviewed by the same radio personality. Here is a link to the recording: https://omny.fm/shows/580-cfra/listen-now-world-war-ii-vet-98-year-old-cpl-celia

We found an article that some of you may be interested to read or re-read. Below is a quote from the story followed by a link to the webpage:

"Two years ago I was thrilled to be a guest speaker at the RCAF Airwomen’s Reunion in Whitehorse, Yukon. Recently a lovely lady named Irene Parkes of Langley, B.C., who tirelessly organizes all the old scrapbooks and records for the group, ran across a batch of wartime photos, so she kindly sent them to me."

REQUESTS AND COMMENTS:

Claire writes:

I roomed with Marg Bebee in 1958/1959 in RCAF Station St Hubert. Any news regarding Marg would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!  I do not think she ever attended any reunion.            Claire (Page) Mitchell

Thank you to Lisa:

We recently received an email from a care worker, Lisa, in Manitoba, about someone we lost touch with. She was wondering if one of our members was the same lady she had been caring for until November 9, 2019. She had seen pictures on our website of Eva Keenahan at our reunions. "Eva was very proud of being a woman in the airforce", said Lisa. She felt it was important to reach out to the members and let them know.

If anyone has any stories they would like to share with Lisa, please email us at newsletter@rcafairwomen.ca

*It takes a special type of person to take care of others. To all those workers in the homes and hospitals who take care of peoples loved ones, thank you.*
